The compassion of Jesus Christ in his encounter
with suffering humanity is our source and inspiration
as Sisters of Mercy in the Apostolate of the Sick.
'1t is a special favour of God to be made the servants of his suffering creatures.'
(Catherine McAuley Foundress of the Sisters of Mercy)
We are called to be a sign of hope,
to restore and give courage to a sick society,
continuing to identify and respond to changing needs
creatively, competently and with practical resourcefulness.
The overall mission of mercy
is to be lived through love, tenderness and compassion.
We, as Sisters of Mercy,in health care today
enable those in need to be aware of their rights
and empower them to achieve their full potential as human persons.
